ZOE’s Animal Rescue Pet First Aid Course

Date: January 5th, 2013
Time: 1:00PM – 5:00PM
Class location: Milwoods Police Station at 104 Youville Drive East, Edmonton, AB – Map
Cost: $90.00 *Must be paid in full at time of registration

The Pet First Aid course will provide participants with a basic knowledge of first aid for dogs and cats, emphasizing prevention of illness or injury and correct handling of ill or injured animals.

Course Content:

Each participant will be given a Pet First Aid book (specific to dogs or cats) by the American Red Cross as well as a DVD.

    • Preventing illness and injury
    • Restraint and transportation
    • Bleeding and wounds
    • Shock
    • Bone and joint injuries
    • Eye and ear injuries
    • Poisoning
    • Injuries from heat and cold
    • Administering medication
    • Airway obstruction
    • Artificial respiration
    • CPR

Material for both cats and dogs will be covered and practiced in the four hour course. You may choose one Pet First Aid book (specificto dogs or cats) that is provided with the course.

You may purchase an additional book at a cost of $25.00 (cash or cheque) on the day of the course, but please indicate if you would like an extra book on the registration form.

If you have a cat or dog stuffed toy you would like to bring to practice on, please feel free to.

**We ask that no animals are brought to either class as the building we are using does not allow animals.**

Cancellation Policy: No refund will be issued once registration and payment are complete. All fees must be paid at time of registration.
