Critter Twitter:

Well hello, my name is Briscoe. I wanted to introduce myself so you could get to know me and learn more about how dogs like me NEED rescue. I am currently a medical dog. I came into the rescue because this incredible family adopted me from California but had NO idea the type of medical needs I had because nothing was disclosed. I kept getting super sick and it was discovered I had pretty severe Juvenile Diabetes. It's taken a while to figure out my diabetes so I have been working with some amazing vets to try to get to me a place where it is under control. I am super nervous about getting poked with needles (I mean who isn't right?!) so I have a sensor in my shoulder for my daily scans, and I have to have insulin 2 times a day, plus I am required to be on raw diet. I spend most of my days playing with my foster siblings, working on my obedience training and having great naps. For the most part I am a perfectly normal dog now, I just have to have some special care and attention to detail. As soon as my blood glucose is a touch more stable I can finally get neutered! Dogs like me that require a lot of care cost rescues lots of money but I promise my life is 1000x worth it. I am such a happy and good boy and I can’t wait to find my furever home!

About my Behaviour:

It might be fun to take some classes, so check out www.albertaforcefreealliance.com for some great force free trainers!

How’s my Health?

I have Juvenile Diabetes. Insulin costs can be about $50-$100 per month (needles and insulin), a sensor is optional but costs about $100-$200 a month, and raw food is about $60-$70 a month. My care on average can cost $200-$400 a month.

I will be neutered, microchipped, de-wormed and up to date on my vaccinations.
