Rescue Story:

I was living in a rural community but was struggling with some injuries (I might have been hit by a car) and so I was brought to Zoe's so I could get fixed up and find an indoor home that would keep me safe.

Good with Dogs? Yes
With proper introductions I haven't shown any issues with other dogs.
Good with Cats? Yes
I am curious but should be fine with dog savvy cats.
Good with Kids? Maybe
I haven't met any children but older kids who can read body language would likely be ok.

Critter Twitter:

Hi, I’m Doughnut, a young dog with a big heart and a beautiful, brindle coat that everyone says is as sweet as my name! I love people and will happily soak up all the cuddles, pets, and attention you’re willing to give. I get along with other dogs and would love a canine friend in my new home. I’m gentle, affectionate, and always ready to brighten your day with my big brown eyes and wagging tail. Whether we’re exploring the neighborhood or lounging at home, I’m just happy to be by your side. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you unconditionally, I might just be your perfect match!

About my Behaviour:

Living in a house is new to me so I'm still working on house training and crate training. I am calm and polite with my people but I do get nervous and will bark when left alone. I would do best in a home with another dog to keep me company and humans who aren't gone long hours. To ensure we get off on the right paw, my adopters will be required to sign up for force-free training. You can find a list of great trainers at www.albertaforcefreealliance.com.

How’s my Health?

I am spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped. I do have some old injuries (maybe from getting hit by a car) and have a bit of a limp.
