Rescue Story:

My family reached out to Zoe's when my mom became pregnant with me and my sister. Zoes helped to spay and neuter my parents and my sister was adopted. I was given to a family and although I was safe and well taken care of, they decided they were not ready for a dog so surrendered me to Zoe’s to find my perfect family.

Critter Twitter:

Hi I'm Jakey! I am a very easy going little boy. I do enjoy playing with the resident dogs and have no fear to big dogs as long as they are gentle. I can be curious about kitty cats but do not bark. The only time I bark currently is when my foster pups start a frenzy. Even then I am more likely to run to my mom for guidance and reassurance. I come across as a little bit timid, but I am still just a baby and I want to be sure of my surroundings before I jump head first into play. I like to eat when I am ready and can be a little bit picky. During the day, my foster mom leaves me out with the resident dogs and I am very content to be out and cuddling with my friends. I have not had any leash training yet but she thinks I will do well because I love being where my human is.

About my Behaviour:

I am doing very well with my overnight crate training from about 11 pm to 7/8 am. Sometimes I do cry in the early am and my mom takes me outside and I go pee. we then go back inside and cuddle in bed until the family is ready to start their day. I have no behavioural needs besides wanting to mark when I first come in a home with other animals. I only did it the first day and my mom put a belly band on me and then I did not continue. I do sometimes have itty bitty poops in the house but my mom thinks it’s because she missed the cue to go outside. I do not like to be separated by doors so will scratch at them if I can hear you on the other side. As a condition of adoption, we must register for a force free, in-person, group training class. We'll learn so much and bond and I can have some socializing time with other dogs in a safe environment, which is really critical for young pups! Please check out www.albertaforcefreealliance.com for some great force free trainers!

How’s my Health?

I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped. Zoe's cannot guarantee what breeds are in me or my size as an adult.
