Rescue Story:

I was living in a rural community outside of Edmonton and had a litter of puppies. The kind folks at Zoe's took us all into care. I did a great job raising my babies and they've all gone on to find homes of their own. I then had surgery and now that I'm healing up I'm ready to start looking for my own happy ending.

Date of Birth: March 8, 2024 (est)

Energy Level: Low - I do love my walks but I'm mostly happy to just sit and take in the world.

Size (adult): Large (approx 90lbs)

Adoption Fee: $425 What a deal for this gorgeous gal!

Critter Twitter:

Hi, I’m Lucy, and if you’re looking for a sweet, quiet companion, I just might be your girl. I’m the kind of pup who likes to sit back, relax, and watch the world go by. Being near my humans makes me happiest, and I’m perfectly content just keeping you company through the day. I’m a very polite lady and don’t feel the need to bark at visitors, passing dogs, or people walking by. I prefer peaceful vibes and quiet companionship over sounding the alarm. Now, squirrels and rabbits? Well, they definitely catch my attention, and I can’t help but think they look awfully interesting. Car rides still feel a little scary to me, but I’m trying my best to be brave and getting better one trip at a time. I’m a gentle soul who would love a patient family to help me continue building my confidence. In return, I’ll happily be your calm shadow and loyal little observer of life’s everyday moments.

About my Behaviour:

I am house trained and very well behaved. My foster mama says I'm a wonderful, easy girl to have around. I haven't been crate trained but am used to being in a pen when my foster family goes out but I've also been good when left free in the house. I sleep through the night on my dog bed in the bedroom. I'm also a dream to walk on leash! To ensure we get off on the right paw, my adopters will be required to sign up for force-free training. You can find a list of great trainers at www.albertaforcefreealliance.com.

How’s my Health?

I am currently recovering from a femoral head ostectomy to correct significant hip dysplasia. My left hind leg is now a little shorter than my right which means I'll always have a slight limp but the vet says it's not painful. I am adjusting well and getting stronger everyday. I am spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped.
