Sage Oodles (Courtesy Post) | Female | Mini Aussie Doodle |
Rescue Story:
Sage was born in the summer of 2020, during the pandemic. Unfortunately, due to restrictions, She had limited exposure to people and other dogs during her critical socialization period. Sage, although sweet and loving with her adult humans, shows anxious nervousness towards new individuals and other dogs. She will need a family who is willing to work on her anxieties and be patient with her moving forward.
As a courtesy post Zoe's has not met "Sage". We facilitate the adoption behind the scenes to ensure a safe rehoming. We ensure the animal is up to date on vet care, spayed/neutered, and is assessed by one of our partner trainers - Zoe's does not personally know the animal. It is the adopters' responsibility to do their due diligence - ask for vet records, behavioral assessment, microchip information, and/or a trial period.

Critter Twitter:
Hello! My name is Sage and I am a cutie patootie little Aussie Oodle. I can come across as a little unsure and I often seek reassurance from my humans but I am a sweet little girl who just finds this world a big place. I need a family who will continue working with me, a family who makes me feel secure. My current family has been amazing with me, but unfortunately with the new small human, I just can't seem to settle. I know they have tried, but I just don't trust those tiny beings, they are too fast and I never know what their intentions are. I am such a good girl and so very smart and love to be praised and receive treats when I show you what I can do. I love a leash adventure and I love being where my humans are. My mom currently bathes me at home regularly to help with my allergies and cuts my nails all by herself. We really have bonded over the years and I hope to find someone who loves me and accepts me as much as my family did. Ideally, I would thrive in an adult only environment. I adore routine and structure. I would also appreciate calm, compassion and predictability. I need a home willing to work with me and to continue to work with my fear-based behaviours in a force free, positive manner. I just need someone to help me feel safe, grow my confidence and most importantly, love me..
About my Behaviour:
Sages family has invested extensively in training support to work with her current needs and to help her find comfort but sadly with a small child in the house, they do not feel like she is getting the attention she deserves to thrive. Sage is crate trained and sleeps comfortably in her kennel. She is a very intelligent little girl, when told to go to "her place" she will walk over to kennel. Sage is highly treat motivated, and responds well to reward-based training practises. She has never bitten, however the family does carefully manage her environment so she can feel safe in her day to day activities. During times when the family is away it is best to keep Sage in her kennel so she feels safe. When left out, she will urinate in the home and does experience separation anxiety.
How’s my Health?
As a puppy, Sage experienced recurrent ear infections and gastro issues. She is suspected to have chicken and beef allergies and is maintained on a strict diet. Currently, she takes Apoquel for her allergies. Previously, she was on Fluoxetine for her anxiety (approx 1 year) but the medication was discontinued after she experienced appetite suppression and appeared emotionally stunted. Sage receives her regular vet care with Grandville Vet Clinic, who helps monitor ny changes. Sage is Up to Date on All Vaccines and Spayed.
