About my Behaviour:

Hi there! I'm Willow. I've been waiting for my forever home for a while now, and Zoe's can't figure out why! I'm such a fantastic girl, and would be a great addition to a loving family. I'm part of the Co-Pilot Program. This means that my adoption fee is $50 - not $300 - and Zoe's will provide a free yearly vet exam at one of our partner vets.

Since my return to Zoe’s, my foster mom has been working with me to build my confidence to help me overcome my worries about what’s coming next. She has been doing lots of one on one activities with me such as playing target and muzzle training. With her communication and interaction my confidence is really increasing and I am learning to love receiving praises. When she gives me treats I sit patiently and wait for my turn.

I have even been given the living room as my space and boy do I love it! I also love my plastic crate as it gives me a sense of security and allows me to relax - all I need are some comfy blankets and I will create my nest. My foster mom has left the house and has even left me out of my crate and I have done great - I will go into my crate on my own and lay down for a snuggle with my blankets.

When my foster mom goes to get my leash I literally jump for joy! I may be 7, but that doesn't stop me! I enjoy my walks, but I am nervous about who I may meet on my walk and prefer to walk in less populated areas like the gravel road where we live. My foster mom has also been taking me for treadmill walks so that I can relax – it’s just her and I and it’s so much fun - I LOVE IT.

When I see the other resident dogs running and playing on the other side of the fence I bark a little and my tail and bum start wagging and wiggling. Foster Mom says that one day I may be able to join in, but first she is teaching me some calming techniques so that I understand that they won’t hurt me and I won't attack them in return.

I’m so smart that I let my foster mom know when I want to go out and when I am ready to come back in by scratching on the door.

I love quiet times and having a yard where I can watch the sunset and lay in the grass. My foster mom says that I look very beautiful and peaceful when I can lay back and enjoy Mother Nature. Except during a thunderstorm.. I am very fearful during storms and will break out of crates and gates so I need to be wtched during those.

How’s my Health?

I am spayed and up to date on my vaccinations.
