Chester Coal   |   Male   |   Domestic cutie (DSH)   |

Rescue Story:

I was taken in by Zoe's as a wee kitten with my mother and 5 siblings. We were found outside of Edmonton near a coal pile. I was adopted out and doing great in my new home for a couple of years, however after my buddy cat passed away, I started playing too roughly with my remaining housemate cats. I was turned back into Zoe's so I can find a furever home that's a better fit for me.

Date of Birth: April 2018

Energy Level: Medium - High

Size (adult): Large (on diet that must continue)

Adoption Fee:

Good with Dogs? Unknown

Good with Cats? Very specific cat(s) only
but has to be another medium-large high-energy cat-friendly cat with slow proper introduction. Will be too rough with smaller/older cats.
Good with Kids? Unknown
I am non-aggressive with people, including even small children.

Critter Twitter:

I'm Chester, a huge sweetheart orange tabby! What I love most is to lay right on top of my people with all of my 18lbs and purr away loudly. I often don't realize how big I am which makes for some fun antics. I am only 3 years old and still curious and playful, an oversized kitten. I like to be wherever my people are so I can watch them and be ready for any play or cuddle opportunities that come up. Feather wand toys are my absolute favorite. Considering my size, I am surprisingly soft-spoken... that is, besides my loud rumbling purr. #bigsofty

About my Behaviour:

I'm very well behaved and was socialized as a kitten so I'm affectionate with people. I do get into mischief when I'm trying to get attention, like a typical teenage cat. But I am not destructive and like to use my scratching posts. I am high energy so I need lots of playtime and attention. I am non-aggressive with people, even with grabby toddlers, and will tolerate claw trimming, being picked up, etc. I am cautious of new people at first, but warm up to them quickly, especially if they have snacks! I am highly food motivated which makes me very trainable. I like other cats, but do play rough because of my size and energy level. I would also do well as a single cat as long as I get enough attention from my owners.

How’s my Health?

I am fully vetted and in good health. I am overweight so I must continue my diet of being fed 3 times a day (good quality wet food twice a day, last meal can be dry). Being overweight increases my chances of many health issues that could be life-threatening so for my sake please don't mind my complaints about being on a diet. Also, no cats in the home could be free-fed as I will eat their food. I like having my teeth brushed and it's important to continue this daily to prevent expensive dental cleanings or teeth removal.
