Rescue Story:
I was found as a stray in a rural community before being brought to Zoe's to find a furever home. I was adopted out but unfortuately it didn't work out as I wasn't getting along with the other dog in the home. My adopters have tried everything but it would be best for me to be the solo dog in the home.

Good with Dogs? No
I am learning and getting better at not reacting to dogs when on a walk, with kind words I am learning to sit and look at my people when other dogs are near. I will need to be in a single dog home. I tried but can’t share my people.
Good with Cats? Unknown
I seem interested in cats but not aggressive, I would likely chase if they ran though.
Good with Kids? Yes
With proper introductions and respectful interactions I would do just fine.

Hi, I’m Citrine, I'm a gentle girl with a soft heart and an even softer spot for snacks. I may be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, you’ll see just how sweet I really am, and how much I love hugs. I’m a smart cookie (especially when treats are involved) and I’ve already learned about the house rules, but I do have a hard time staying off the couch when my people are on it. New situations can feel a bit scary, but I take hints from my people and stay with them. I can have a calm and easygoing nature but sometimes I can get excited and need a good run. I like to use my paws for playing. I like chewing on bones and squeaky toys, but I don’t really get what the deal is with this fetch game. What I do know is I love a good game of wrestling with my humans as long as it ends with cuddling. With a few nice words, and a few cookies, I can grow on anyone with my beautiful, and bright personality. If you're looking for a sweet and playful pup to share your life (and maybe your snacks), I think we’d make the perfect match.
About my Behaviour:
Living in a house is no longer so new to me and I am mostly house trained, I am doing great with crate training (I like my crate, it feels like my personal safe space), and I have learned basic manners in my foster home. I’m no longer scared to be on a leash and love walks with people but I also need the freedom of a yard where I can chase squirrels (I LOVE squirrels). I much prefer my people to be home but I usually just sleep in my kennel when my people are gone if they aren’t gone too long (I would need people who aren’t gone for long hours). I’m a smart girl who likes to learn and is looking for a patient home with people that have some dog experience. Unfortunately, because of the time I spent before I was picked up by Zoe’s, I have a hard time trusting other dogs and can’t be trusted with another dog in the house. How’s my Health?
I am spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped. After being spayed my estrogen levels were no longer balanced, and had some incontinence problems in my foster home. This has been effectively managed with a pill covered in peanut butter every three days.
