Deacon UPDATED Jan 15 2019   |   Male   |   Mixed Breed   |

Rescue Story:

I was born in Zoe's care and adopted out but was then unfortunately returned. I really want my next home to be my furever home.

A set of manners classes and a one on one session with a positive reinforcement trainer will be provided (mandatory training at a location listed on https://www.albertaforcefreealliance.com is a condition of adoption.) Learning to walk without pulling . Sep anxiety improving, however Deacon would prefer someone not gone long days. He is on anxiety meds for separation anxiety and stays in a special crate. Separation anxiety can be treated - it takes patience and time.

Date of Birth: 2016

Energy Level: High when playing but I love my relax time, too.

Size (adult): Medium

Adoption Fee:

Good with Dogs? Yes
I am good with other dogs and love to play with them when I'm out and about, but it would be best if I was the only dog in my new furever home as I'm pretty protective of my resources.
Good with Cats? Yes
I have no issues with kitties!
Good with Kids? Yes
I get along with kids just fine!

Critter Twitter:

They call me Deacon! I am a smart, high energy boy who would do really well with agility classes. I will easily learn to do tricks too! I need to be the only dog in my home. I have a tendency to owner guard and will be aggressive towards other dogs seeking attention from 'my' human. I am okay in groups of dogs as long as the people that are present are moving around so that I don't have a chance to station myself for guarding. I am a good boy with cats and kids! I will go in my crate, but it's not my favourite thing as I really just want to be with my humans. I'm learning to be excellent on my leash and I love to play tug of war! Honestly though, I am a sweet, playful boy who just want to be loved. #smartypants#letsplay

About my Behaviour:

I have some separation anxiety that I am working on. I need a patient owner who is willing to continue my training as well as stimulate my mind. I need lots of exercise, too. If you adopt me Zoe's will set us up with a set of manners classes and a one on one training session. I am on anxiety meds for separation anxiety and I have a special crate so I feel safe when I am alone. It would be good if my new humans could be home a lot to help me feel safe and secure.

How’s my Health?

I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. I am on a prescription diet for my sensitive tummy, anxiety medication and antibiotics.

*** Co Pilot Program: along with my reduced adoption fee of $200 I will come with 1 - one on one session with a Zoe's trainer, as well as a set of classes. ***
