Milli Vanilli   |   Female   |   Mixed Breed   |

Rescue Story:

I was adopted out but sadly returned. I can't wait to find my true forever home!

Date of Birth: July 2019

Energy Level: Medium-High

Size (adult): Medium - 55 lbs

Adoption Fee:

Good with Dogs? Yes
once we meet, but am on-leash dog reactive.
Good with Cats? No
No thank you to kitties!
Good with Kids? Yes
I am very sweet, but I'm a bit rambunctious and could knock over smaller humans by accident. Older kids are best unless supervised.

Critter Twitter:

I’m the sweetest girl with the biggest heart and the ears to match. I’m not timid, I like everyone I meet! I’m excitable and young, which means I can be jumpy and nippy when I’m really happy, but I’m working on it! I would love a big backyard I could run around in and maybe even a nice doggie friend to play with (as long as we get along), although I’d be happy in a home with just humans as long as they pay lots of attention to me. I’ve never lived with a dog, but I've liked all the ones I’ve met so far. New situations can make me feel overwhelmed and overstimulated, so I think I’d like a home where I’m not asked to do too many new and exciting things. Routine and calmness will help me a lot. When I’m over my threshold my ears turn off– the world is just so big and new. What I love most is napping on the sofa, playing in the yard and going for walks around my neighbourhood. I'd also make a good jogging buddy, but need to work a bit more on not criss-crossing in front of you. I am medium to high energy, but the best way to tire me out and promote calmness is mental stimulation. I love my puzzle balls, frozen kongs, snuffle mat, and I LOVE ripping up cardboard boxes.

About my Behaviour:

I can be a bit of a velcro dog– wherever you are, I want to be there and as close to you as I can be. If you do leave me alone or gated off, I’ll cry for a bit but then settle myself down for a nap. I like to know where my people are at all times and I like to be right there next to them. No worries if you’re not working from home though, I’m not destructive, I’m housetrained, and will probably just sleep while you’re away. My dad works from home right now and he says I just sleep most of the day and get most excited at night. I’m working on not crying when I want your attention when you ARE home, I just think you should always be petting me cause I’m so cute! This is where my enrichment toys come in to save the day. I am dog-reactive on a leash. I am what they call a “frustrated greeter”. I want to say hi to every dog I see on a walk, so I pull and whine to go see them (usually don’t bark). I’m great once we actually get to meet the dog, even if I’m on a leash and they aren’t. We’ll need to work together on my reactivity, possibly with a force free trainer. I have a high prey drive for squirrels and rabbits. The mountains were hard for me because they’re FILLED with squirrels and I didn’t know what to do with myself. I’m a sensitive girl who probably won’t love to be your next bold adventure buddy as change and new situations are quite hard for me to keep my cool. But if you’re looking for a happy, friendly dog to run circles around your yard and you understand and are willing to put in some work with me on my reactivity, I’m your girl!

How’s my Health?

I am spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed and Microchipped.
