Snicker Doodle | Male | Mixed Breed |
Rescue Story:
I first came to Zoe's as part of their Helping Hands program. I was living in a rural community and came home one day with an injury from being hit by a vehicle (we think) and with porcupine quills. Zoe's helped get me fixed up and back home, but just a few days later I ended up getting quilled again. After healing up a second time my family decided to surrender me so I wouldn't get into more trouble and could live the indoor life.
Date of Birth: February 17, 2024 (est)
Energy Level: Medium - I like a good play but also know how to chill
Size (adult): Medium (approx 55lbs)
Adoption Fee: $425 But can you really put a price on happiness!
Good with Dogs? Yes
I currently live with two other dogs and we all get along well and love to play!
Good with Cats? No
Those felines make me a little nervous and I will chase if they run so I'd do best in a home without any.
Good with Kids? Yes
I am sweet and gentle and would do well with kids.
Critter Twitter:
Hi! I’m Snicker, your future best buddy and certified goofball! I’m a happy, playful guy who loves everyone I meet, especially kids and other dogs. I’ve got that classic “goober energy” - the kind that makes people laugh and smile wherever I go. I’m super friendly and love hanging out with my people, whether we’re playing, cuddling, or going for a ride (I’m awesome in the car, by the way!). When I’m really happy, I let out this adorable little “woo woo” to show my excitement. I’m also a smart boy who loves learning new things, especially if it means treats or scritches. Cuddles are one of my favorite ways to recharge after playtime. If you’re looking for a joyful, loving, and silly sidekick, I’m your guy.
About my Behaviour:
I am adjusting really well to being an indoor dog. I haven't had any accidents in my foster home and am working on crate training. I sleep in my crate and go in there when my foster parents go out. I do prefer being with you though, so it would be great if you're not gone long hours. I get along well with other dogs but do get a bit overexcited when seeing new dogs on my walks and will whine. I'm a happy, friendly young pup who will sometimes forget I'm not supposed to jump up when meeting new friends. To ensure we get off on the right paw, my adopters will be required to sign up for force-free training. You can find a list of great trainers at www.albertaforcefreealliance.com.
How’s my Health?
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped. I came to Zoe's after being quilled by a porcupine and with a soft tissue injury to my back we think from being hit by a car. I am all healed up and doing well but there is always a chance quills can migrate out and appear so you will want to monitor for any new lumps/bumps.
