Rescue Story:
I started my life hiding under a lady’s deck, where my mom was so shy that it took quite a while for the rescuers to catch us. It’s been a journey learning to trust humans, but after lots of patience and socialization, I’ve blossomed into a confident, loving kitten. I am now officially ready to find my forever family and move into a home where I can share all the snuggles I’ve been saving up!

Hi, I'm Budkiss, but my nickname is Peet! I'm a bit of a mystery man. New people make me nervous, so I might tell you all about it (loudly) before I decide you're actually pretty cool. Once I trust you though? I'm all about goofy play sessions, climbing things I'm definitely not coordinated enough to climb, and being carried upside down like a baby so you can admire my top-tier toe beans. Wand toys, ball tracks, and tube treats are the fastest way to my heart. I'm getting braver every day, and while I may never be a full-time lap cat, I'm becoming a little more velcro with the people I love. #shybutsweet
About my Behaviour:
I'm a shy guy who needs a slow introduction to new people and places. My vocalizing and backing away come from uncertainty, not aggression. With patience, kindness, and a few tasty tube treats, I settle in beautifully and show my sweet, playful side. I would do best with a family that understands trust takes time—and that it's always worth the wait.
I must be adopted to a home with a young cat friendly cat, or with a sibling. Like most shy kitties, I really look to other cats for confidence and reassurance.
How’s my Health?
I am fixed, and I am microchipped, up to date vaccines, and dewormed. I must be fed at least one meal of wet food a day for hydration. Wet food is important, as it's best for kitties, so please make sure it's in my diet. Wet food is higher in protein and can be lower in carbs. It also gives added moisture, which is important, as dry-food-only-fed cats tend to be dehydrated, which can lead to UTIs. I am a polydactyl, meaning I have more toes than normal, be sure to keep them well trimmed. It would be good idea to have me be on gabapentin for the first month to help me settle in, or you can try other anxiety calming supplements to see if it helps.
