My Rescue Story

I was found with my sibling at a pond all alone with no mom and no person around, likely we were dumped there. Zoe’s agreed to take us both in when our finder couldn’t keep us.

What am I like?

Let me tell you!

I’m Cinder, a cutie pie who’s eternally looking for the shared ginger cat brain cell. My sister Cedar and I were found outdoors when we were just a few weeks old, by a Zoe’s volunteer who was walking our dogs – we were all alone in some bushes. We’re pretty lucky she found us! I love getting belly rubs while I’m napping in my favorite bed. I like to make biscuits and suckle on my bed to soothe myself before I fall asleep, my foster mom tells me it’s really adorable.

Once I’m tired out from playing with my sister Cedar, if I’m not in my bed, I like to curl up on your shoulder and fall asleep. My big boy purrs directly in your ear is kind of like ASMR, which I’m told is pretty trendy. #purrr

How do I act?

I must be adopted to a home with either my sibling or you need a young very cat friendly cat at home for me. I do need slow introductions to new cats, but I do very much enjoy other cats company and love to play with them. Ideally I would be adopted with my sibling, but as long as you have a young cat buddy who will play with me and cuddle with me I will thrive.

My Health is Very Important!

I am fixed, and I am microchipped, up to date vaccines, and dewormed. I must be fed at least one meal of wet food a day for hydration. Wet food is important, as it’s best for kitties, so please make sure it’s in my diet. Wet food is higher in protein and can be lower in carbs. It also gives added moisture, which is important, as dry-food-only-fed cats tend to be dehydrated, which can lead to UTIs.

I had an upset tummy for my first few weeks in care, so it took a little while for me to figure out how to use the litter box. I have been still having some issues with pooping outside the litter box and have been switched to a wet food only diet to see if it helps my poop firm up so I feel better. Thankfully my foster is understanding that I am still young and learning, and that I did have some tummy issues that are hopefully fixed. For me it would be ideal to have plenty of litter boxes around the house and to keep me in a sanctuary room for a few weeks at least when I first come to help with litter box training.
