Beatrix Potter | Female | Mixed Breed |
Rescue Story:
I was found abadoned with my mom and sister at a recreation area outside of Edmonton so not much is known about my history. I was taken in by bylaw and after spending some time at the shelter was transferred to Zoe's and into a foster home. I have had a rough start to life and am quite timid but am slowly making progress and learning to trust.
Date of Birth: September 19, 2025 (est)
Energy Level: High - I'm a smart and active teenager!
Size (adult): Medium (currently 45lbs)
Adoption Fee: $450 bargain price for a lifetime of laughs and kisses
Good with Dogs? Must have a dog Friend
With proper introductions I do well with other dogs and love to play. I need another dog friend in my future home to help with my confidence.
Good with Cats? Maybe
I am currently fostered with cats but I think they should play with me and they disagree. With very dog savvy cats I would be ok.
Good with Kids? Maybe
Older kids who can respect my boundaries and take things slow with me as I am quite timid and nervous of fast movements.
Critter Twitter:
Hi, I'm Beatrix, and I'm looking for a patient family who will give me the time I need to feel safe. I can be pretty shy when I first meet new people, but I promise there's a goofy, silly girl hiding underneath my timid exterior. Once I trust you, you'll get to see my fun personality come to life. Playing with my dog friends is one of my absolute favourite things, and nothing makes me happier than racing around the backyard with the zoomies. I also love toys and can happily entertain myself with a good chew. I'm a gentle, sweet soul who truly wants to love and be loved but I'm still learning that humans can be kind. Every small step I take is a big victory, and having people who celebrate those moments will help me continue to blossom. If you have a patient heart and believe the best friendships are worth waiting for, I think we could be the perfect match. I may not be the first one to run into your arms, but with time, I'll show you just how special I am.
About my Behaviour:
I am very timid with people (especially men) and will need a patient home who will take things slow and help to continue build my confidence. I get very attached to other dogs and will need a doggy friend in my home to help me feel safe. I am house trained and crate trained. I do well in my crate when my foster family goes out and the other dog is with me, but I get anxious if I'm left all alone. I am starting to learn some new things like sit, down, touch and shake a paw. Going on walks and being on leash is new, my foster mama says my leash manners are a little chaotic but we're working on it. I've got a good off switch and am quite happy to chill near you if you're relaxing but I'm also very much in my teenage phase and have been known to steal the odd sock or shoe when you're not looking. As a condition of my adoption, my adopters will be required to register for 3 private training sessions with a force free trainer to help ensure a smooth transition into my new home.
How’s my Health?
I am currently taking gabapentin twice a day to help with my anxiety. I am spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped. Zoe's cannot guarantee what breeds are in me or my size as an adult.
