Olympus Camera | Male | Mixed Breed |
Rescue Story:
My Mama came to Zoe's when she was pregnant. We were lucky to be born in warm, dry, safe place. I am now grown up and ready to find my forever home!
Date of Birth: June 2, 2022
Energy Level: High - I am full of fun puppy energy!
Size (adult): Large-XLarge
Adoption Fee: By donation
Good with Dogs? Yes
I am still learning puppy manners when greeting other dogs but with proper introductions I get along great with little and big dogs
Good with Cats? Yes
With continued training and supervision I should do okay. I don't bother the cat unless she runs.
Good with Kids? Yes
With respectful playing, I get along great with kids, but older kids would be best, as I am a large bouncy puppy.
Critter Twitter:
Hey there! I am Olympus, one of the last 2 Camera puppies to go up for adoption. I am a sweet, teenaged pup that loves to be in the middle of everything. I currently love to run and play chase with my humans and canine companions. I will do best in a home that is physically active, who will take me out on long sniffy walks and maybe a good run. I also will need time to cuddle on the couch and read a good book with my human. I'm smart and learning new cues every single day.
About my Behaviour:
I am great in the crate when no one is home or at night. When the family is home, I would far rather hang out with them. I started puppy classes in Nov, and I currently know how to sit and I am working on stay.
As a condition of adoption, we must register in a force free training class for puppies. We'll learn so much and bond and I can have some socializing time with other dogs in a safe environment, which is really critical for young pups! How’s my Health?
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped.
Zoe's can not guarantee breeds or my size as an adult.
Now for some important information. I have congenital megaesophagus (ME). Megaesophagus means my esophagus is enlarged and basically, there isn't enough muscle tone to move food from the esophagus to the stomach. To remain healthy, dogs with megaesophagus require small frequent meals. I am fed 5 times per day. I will need to be upright for my meals, so I use a Bailey chair and it will move with me. On top of small frequent meals in the chair, my megaesophagus is also managed with medications. My medication cost about $90/month. My adoption will include Zoe’s reduced vet care for my whole life. With this feeding regime and meds, I am thriving and growing and already am a big boy!
